Prior to coming to Naples in 2006, Mr. DeMarco was engaged in the private practice of law in Connecticut, where he managed his own law firm for the last sixteen years. The broad transactional and litigation experience acquired by Mr. DeMarco during his initial years as a general practitioner provides an excellent perspective for his primary areas of practice over the past twenty years: commercial and residential foreclosure litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants, including real property valuation and deficiency claims; loan workouts, short sales, and other non-foreclosure methods of secured debt resolution; creditor’s rights, unsecured debt collection, and related Bankruptcy matters; real estate litigation, such as contract claims, boundary disputes, claims of easements, adverse possession, and title claims; construction litigation and dispute resolution, representing both contractors and landowners; landlord-tenant matters; and general and complex business litigation matters.

Work Experience Prior to Bar Admission

While pursuing his undergraduate education and prior to attending law school, Mr. DeMarco worked full-time in the construction industry as a laborer, carpenter, driver, and equipment operator for approximately fourteen years, during which time he was a member of the International Laborer’s Union of North America Local 455, and also was employed in the trucking/freight industry as a dock worker and driver, as a member the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 443. In the construction field, Mr. DeMarco was employed in all facets of commercial construction and residential construction, from the beginning to end of the project. This real life construction work experience gives Mr. DeMarco an understanding of life “on the job” that only those who have worked in the field can truly appreciate, and further provides a firm foundation for construction litigation and dispute resolution matters.
